New York Attorney General Letitia James has won a major victory in her civil lawsuit against former President Donald Trump and the Trump Organization. On September 26, 2023, a New York judge ruled that Trump and his company had committed fraud for years by misrepresenting the value of their assets

James' lawsuit alleged that Trump and the Trump Organization had engaged in a "decade-long pattern of fraud" by inflating the value of their assets to obtain favorable loans, insurance coverage, and tax breaks

The judge found that Trump had inflated the value of his assets by billions of dollars, including his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, his penthouse apartment in Trump Tower, and various office buildings and golf courses

The ruling could have a significant impact on Trump's political future, as he is widely expected to run for president again in 2024. The fraud ruling could damage his reputation and make it more difficult for him to raise money and attract voters

The judge's ruling is a major victory for James and her team, who have been investigating Trump's business practices for years. The ruling shows that no one is above the law, not even a former president
